What to expect
You'll meet your guide at 9am ready to kayak. The day alternates between water and land: three solid hours in the kayak navigating the Coorong's shallow channels and open water, punctuated by stops to explore the landscape on foot. Expect a dune crossing to the ocean edge and an educational bush walk where the guide points out plants Aboriginal people traditionally used for food. You'll eat twice—a proper lunch and afternoon tea. The paddle suits moderate fitness; you need swimming ability or confidence in a lifejacket, and kayaks work for paddlers up to 120kg.
