What to expect
You'll start with a briefing on safety and climbing fundamentals from your guide, then progress to the cliff faces. Multiple routes are pre-set to match your fitness and experience—beginners get confidence-building ascents whilst experienced climbers tackle steeper pitches. Expect hands-on instruction in rope work, footwork and body positioning. The abseiling descent is controlled and methodical, often the highlight for those new to the sport. The gorge itself provides respite between climbs, with natural pools and abundant wildlife.
Good to know
Bring sunscreen, hat and a full water bottle; the exposed cliff face offers little shade. You'll need moderate fitness and reasonable cardiovascular health. Minimum height 120cm, maximum weight 120kg. Not suitable if pregnant or with spinal injuries. The park is accessible from Adelaide, though transport isn't included—arrange your own vehicle or check local shuttle options.
